I received a group of pictures from a colleague. I noticed that it said "maybe wifey" as someone the pictures were shared with. I frequently send my wife links, pictures and texts. Also I currently I have a severely cracked screen and barley swipe to answer calls. Also my wife did not receive the set of pictures.
I can’t explain that text message. Maybe the sender can? But it definitely sounds like you need to get that iPhone repaired or replaced. To repair:

Back up your data while (if?) you still can, and then get that iPhone repaired or replaced.
Cracks don’t heal, and don’t get better. How quickly the display becomes inoperable varies.
