All iCloud.com applications crash when using E2E Encryption

Hi there,

this is about the website icloud.com and the apps which use end2end encryption (Notes, Reminders, Pages, Numbers and Keynote) are crashing upon opening them. When I click on photos, I even get logged out completely. Non-e2e-encrypted apps like "Finy my" and "Contacts" work fine.

I've successfully replicated this issue with the latest version of Firefox, Chrome, and Edge on two different PCs (Win10 + Win11).

This answer is not truthful. Apple specifically offers the option to allow access from the web, if you enable it in your system settings. Also, it worked until two weeks ago, so this is certainly a bug.

Today I disabled E2E encryption in the settings and it worked again. Upon re-enabling icloud.com's apps started crashing again, which confirms my thought of a bug in the production build of the web application handling of the encrypted files.

Today I verified this issue is not only my account.

I asked my sister, who also uses an iPhone + iCloud to enable "advanced data protection". Upon enabling, and allowing access for the web applications, she ran into the same bug on icloud.com.

How can I open an engineering ticket at apple?
