Iphone wired hotspot disconnects from windows when downloading files
Greetings,
This is a somewhat perplexing issue that i have not found a fix for and thought i’d bring to light here.
I have been connecting my Iphone to my windows pc as an ethernet hotspot for years now with no issues.
Recently i have upgraded from an iphone XS to the iphone 12 Pro, and the problem has arose since then.
The issue is when i connect my hotspot via USB, the hotspot works fine, up until i download anything or i get a facetime call, as soon as the download begins - i get a “No internet connection message”. This issue has never occurred on a previous apple device.
i have tried connecting my friends’ iphones to my pc and the issue was gone. The issue also arises when connecting my iphone hotspot to other computers aswell. So i have localized the problem to be with my iphone and not with the computer.
I have currently tried all of the following:
- Updating my iphone to the latest ios version (IOS 16.5)
- Updating my windows to the newest version
- Updating my itunes to the newest version
- Deleting my VPN off the iphone completely
- Reseting my network settings both on the iphone and on the computer.
- Using different apple iphone cables
- Restarting both devices
- Turning the hotspot off and on again
- Changing my hotspot’s password (even though connecting hotspot through USB does not require a password).
This issue has been present for over 2 months now and has only arose after upgrading from the iphone XS to the iphone 12 Pro.
If anyone could provide some insight if this is a hardware issue on my iphone or a software issue that i could have dealt with i would greatly appreciate it.
iPhone 12 Pro
