Beeweedy - Thanks for the info. You have the same iPhone/iOS as I do. Perhaps the instructions in this link will explain it better. I’ve copied the pertinent parts here:

I would still like to know how to do this. I added a medication by accident and want to REMOVE/DELETE it. As the other person says, all that I see is Archive, no Delete. How do I enable a delete button?
Also, can I delete the log of this medication?
I have updated my iPad to ios17. I like the idea of the heart app now being available for the iPad. But the medication portion is really inconvenient and not ideal. I am a nurse and the medications can not be put in the way the Rx is written. Ex: lopressor 25mg bid or twice a day. It does not allow you to delete the medication when discontinued. I truly dislike it
I was having difficulty with this too. When you get to the browse page scroll down below the Log portion down to the Your Medications list, then pick the medication you want to edit. I was always trying to edit from the Log List, the medications must be edited from the Your Medications list.
Is Medications showing up on your Summary screen? If not, tap Browse at the bottom, right of the screen, then select Medications.
Perhaps this Apple Support page will do a better job of explaining what you should do. I hope it helps:
Add and log medications with iPhone and Apple Watch - Apple Support (IS)
Agree. No real way to put two capsules or 1-2 tablets, etc. Not useful.
To remove medications, open the Health app then select Medications. Tap the medication you wish to remove, then scroll down to Delete Medication. Tap the back arrow at the top, left when finished. Let us know if you have any other questions.
I tried all of their suggestions. When I go to edit there is no delete or archive, nor is there an option for it in the option. Everything boots me back to schedule or add medication. What I see on the screen they show, does not match what I see on my phone. Now I keep the meds in a different app.
Which iPhone do you have, Beeweedy? (That is always helpful when we are trying to help.) If the tips in this discussion are not working for you, I suggest you contact Apple Support directly by tapping Support at the top or bottom of this page.
It seems that with IOS 17 the delete function has disappeared. I have noticed the same with my BP device and other health devices. Apple is no different. Once you write your medication it will be there forever. I will never use the medication reminder again. Prove me otherwise.
Hi Carol, there is no tab to delete medication.
To get to the medications i Must go to add medication. It only gives me the option to change the schedule.
I’m sorry it did not work out for you, but glad you found a different way of tracking your meds.

I never noticed, nor has anyone mentioned that next to the edit medications list, there is an archive option there . That did the trick
