How to make Siri stop suggesting a work commute. I’m retired and never go to work.

I quit my job and couldn’t get my old workplace out of Siri suggestions. Finally got it…> settings> Siri & Search> Siri & Dictation History> Delete> OK > restart phone

To stop Siri from suggesting places

>Settings >Siri & Search> Before Searching> Show Suggestions TURN OFF> Restart phone

My phone is doing this constantly since the February iOS update. Here is what I did today and I think it worked. Went to settings, privacy and security, location services, system services. Then toggled off alerts and shortcut automations, share my location, and suggestions and search. I’ll keep you posted

Another place to look is Open the Settings App. Then Siri & Search. Scan down to Maps. Tap Maps and turn off Suggestion Notifications. Do the same for any map application you frequently use.

Is this suggestion from Google Maps?

Probably you have enabled this smart feature (please see the pic below which is self-explanatory).
