Connecting to in home WiFi with new phone

I have a new iphone 14Pro and it is inconsistent about connecting to my home wifi networks when I am in my home and it says it can see them. At times it tells me it needs me to input the password, other times not. I never had the problem connecting to these home wifi networks with my previous iphone.

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 16

Hi Pfister1968,

Lacking further information on the precise nature of your situation, here are some possible resources that may help:

1) Check out If your iPhone or iPad won't connect to a Wi-Fi network for a list of steps to try, testing after each one, to see if the connection problems remain.

2) If you have iCloud Private Relay enabled per About iCloud Private Relay, try turning that feature off and retesting. Per that page: "Some websites, networks, or services may need to make updates for Private Relay, including networks that require the ability to audit traffic or perform network-based filtering — such as business or education networks—or services that rely on viewing your browsing activity, like parental controls or some "zero rated" services that don’t count against your data usage."

3) If the issue continues, evaluate your network settings against those outlined at Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points to ensure the best chances of compatiblity.

Regards.
