Kingston nucleum hub, USB ports don't work

LS.,

I have macbook air with a persistent problem. It has two USB-C ports which I use to connect a Kingston nucleum hub (see specs below). I use the hub to connect a keyboard, a mouse and a HDMI external screen. When connecting the hub to either USB-C port, the external screen connects fine. However, I can't get the keyboard and mouse running. The hub is fine and works perfect on a windows-based laptop.

I have tried al the obvious options as described below.

The mac is running the latest macOS (Ventura v 13.4).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. My current hypothesis is that the hub is not compatible with the bus of the Macbook (but it used to work??).

Regards, TY
