Apple and Schlage

Apple’s response to all HomeKit issues seems to always be “not our fault”check with device maker. Well, it may no be your fault but it is you responsibility to work with device makers to make sure that integration works easily and reliably or you will never capture more than a niche portion of the smart home market. MATTER is supposed to lead the way, but adoption is slow because a bifurcated market is more profitable for some, but comes at the expense to consumers. Congress should step in to require interoperability standards, starting with Matter, to be added to all smartphone devices, preferably through firmware updates, by end of 2023.
