I have a shared album that is created by me. Updates to the album like comments and likes are actively getting tracked in Iphone Photos App, but not syncing correctly in the Photos App on Mac. The library is completely synced but the activity is mismatching in the Mac, compared to Iphone.
The SHared albums can be different on your devices, if you ever diabled the shared albums on one device. The new syncing will only download the data that are still in iCloud, not the data that used to be on the device.
If you enabled your shared album as a public shared album, so you can view it in iCloud using an iCloud link, you can check, which items and comments are still in iCloud.
On my Mac and the iPhone the "Activity" albums are identical. Which system versions are running on your devices?
So, the shared albums were initially enabled on all devices and completely backed up to icloud. Later Mac stopped syncing from last week, and so I disabled and re-enabled, rebuilt the library and finally deleted the lib file and recreated and re-synced with cloud. All the photos and videos are downloaded to standard lib and also shared albums. Except the activity of the shared albums. This got synced till last month, and is also able to sync the new changes in activity on the shared album across multiple deviced. Except the last month activity. That piece is just not getting updated while other devices are able to
Mac OS Ventura 13.4. And IOS 16.5
The sync worked initially for the last several months but stopped ever since. Tried deleting the underlying library file, reset everything etc etc. So far no luck.
