Phone number invalid - Update Shipping Contact Apple Pay

This information will help update your Apple ID information.

• Update trusted phone numbers and devices that you're currently signed in to with your Apple ID.
• Change your password to help maintain the security of your account.
• Update your Apple ID email address3 to make sure it's an address that you use frequently.
• Add additional email addresses to help people find and communicate with you on Apple services like FaceTime1, iMessage, and Find My.
• Update the birth date associated with your Apple ID.
• Change your Apple ID country or region.

Update your shipping information on your iPhone.

Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay > transaction defaults > address - update as needed

Wallet app > tap on any card > tap three dots in corner > tap address - edit as needed for all cards

Settings > Apple ID (your name at the top) > payment & shipping > address - edit as needed.

Just had this happen. Frustrated for about 30 minutes. Have used Apple Pay many times without issue. Found that I had to change how my phone number was entered. Previously had “1” before the area code. I removed the 1, solved the problem.

It had nothing to do with the shipping address.

Thank you so much! After numerous frustrating retrying and editing, I easily removed the dash in my phone number and ipay worked.

When it says update shipping contact when you go to use Apple Pay I made sure my address was there but what got it to work was I made sure my phone number did not have the 1 in front of it and I also added my email and it immediately let me use the Apple Pay after that.

I may have the fix for this, but the individual merchant may be showing past shipping information if you’ve done Apple Pay transactions with them before.

Please follow this path,

iPhone > Settings app > Contacts > My Info > type your name into search field at top of screen > select contact Me (see photo below) > correct all contact information > save changes

Next step is,

Settings app > Wallet & Apple Pay > scroll down to Transaction Defaults > Shipping Address > a blue check mark should be next to new/updated Shipping Address.

Address will used on all new transactions. If you have an existing transaction, that will need to be canceled and a new transaction started.

This genuinely worked! There is an Edit button, top left.

For me, my name was missing, so I added that, I also deleted my phone number and re-entered it.

clicked Done, then Done again.

And Voila! Apple Pay works again.

In fact what happened I moved and changed address and it did not update in my settings for some strange reason even though the credit card company had the correct address, so I had to change it manually.

your billing and shipping address need to be the same on all

apple devices and in settings. I stumbled upon by accident actually.

OK, check these three locations please;

Each card also has an address associated with the account. Please follow this path;

iPhone > Settings > Apple ID (Your Name at top of screen) > Payment & Shipping > tap card to edit > tap Billing address > tap edit (upper right corner of screen) edit necessary changes

iPhone > Settings > Apple ID (Your Name at top of screen) > Payment & Shipping > Shipping Address (edit or delete address

iPhone > Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay > Transaction Defaults (scroll down) > Shipping Address > Edit (upper right corner of screen) > either Enter New Shipping Address, add new address or edit/delete addresses

Yup this worked for me as well. I did…

1- Click on update contact under the card info

2-Click on edit (top left corner)

3-Delete your phone number(s)

4-Enter your phone number without dashes

5-Click done

I had to add my first and last PLUS retype my phone number(even though my correct number was shown). Than worked! It does not work when I just update my contact name.

Had the same issue, kept saying phone number can’t be empty. Put +44 at the beginning and removed the 0 and it went through, so guessing it’s for international country codes.

I was experiencing the same thing. I clicked on

1.update contact,

2. edit top left corner,

3.deleted all the phone numbers

4. added the same number without any dashes,

5.clicked done,

and it worked

I changed my phone number from +1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx to (xxx) xxx-xxxx and I was able to complete my purchase using Apple Pay.

Update all the fields that you can INCLUDING the fields that are OK. I had to retype every field even though the fields were correct. I hope this works for you.

I removed the 1 country code from my phone number and this allowed me to place the order via ApplePay. Seems like an easy thing to correct
