Turn off pressing esc to exit full screen apps

I have the same issue — and to be honest, it drives me nuts having to constantly re-maximize my window just because I want to ensure a all objects are deselected, and that all dialogue boxes have been "cancelled". Is there really no way to stop esc from handling specifically minimizing windows? If I need to minimize a window, I will take the time to press the green button, otherwise how can I disconnect that relationship!!

If when pressing Esc has the user in error pressed the Green Button in Top Left of the Application ?

Notice the Options available 1 - Enter Full Screen Mode 2 - Tile Window to Left of Screen 3 - Tile Window to Right of Screen

I don't think there is a way to specifically prevent escape from exiting fullscreen - short of disabling the esc key altogether.

Incidentally, the red button does not exit full screen, it closes the window. The green button exits fullscreen and is the equivalent of escape or Command-Control-F.

Use the 3 keyboard command altogether >> Control + Command + F.

The ESC key does nothing for Applications that have been minimized

Pressing the Green Button with put the application in Full Screen Mode

I know the command to put the window back into full screen, but I wish I didnt have to wait for the screens to re-maximize every time I've pressed esc multiple times. "Pressing the Green Button with put the application in Full Screen Mode " — yes, I meant the yellow button.
