Caddy Screw Hole Problem with New Hard Drive
For my 2012 MacPro 5,1
Usually when I replace a drive in the internal caddies, I simply remove the caddy, pop out the 4x screws, and pop a new drive back in.
But it seems things may have changed in recent years when I'm attempting to put in a new 16TB Seagate Exos drive - because only the two front holes line up. The ones toward the middle of the caddy are not reflected in this newer drive - where the extra two screw holes are closer to the back of the drive. (See pics).
Anyone come across this before? (Maybe you've fitted newer drives in these 5.1 Macs and noted the same).
I can't just drill a new hole in the caddy because they are recessed, and obviously I'm not about to drill holes in the drive.
Do you know of any 3rd party caddies which will help me out?
(Just 2 screws are not sufficient and I'd rater not butcher the caddy).
Thanks,
Mac Pro, macOS 10.12
