Keynote Narration Problems
I experience the problem reported here.
Keynote Narration recording problems—Apple Community. (n.d.). Retrieved 31 May 2023, from https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254515270?answerId=258441135022#258441135022
The problem can be mimicked using this report by a previous user. I find this mimic works about 80% of the time.
You can easily mimic it.
- Open "record slideshow" from the play menu.
- Start recording your voice, move to next slide
- Then stop the recording (Imagine you did a mistake or spelled incorrectly a word)
- You need to go back slightly, just before you made a mistake to start the recording again
- Then you start recording (keynote ask you if you are sure because you will erase the part after that point)
- You answer Yes/OK
At that moment, you will notice that the mic level indicator at the bottom left is not moving anymore.
You can continue, but nothing is happening.
After you finish, if you want to listen to recording, it will stop at the point that you rewinded before.
Sometimes I get this result when I save the Keynote, Quit, and reopen, after a failed narration edit. "The Movie recording may be damaged and can't be played....The movie can't be found"
I will attempt to re-install Keynote. That's not a nice solution when the prescriber has not actually experienced the fault, I must say.
