MacBook Pro 2019 16-inch cpu freq lies at 1.ghz
I’ve been having performance issues with my MacBook Pro for about a year now. My laptop will struggle with basic computer functions, with the cpu frequency dropping to 1ghz during critical operations. I thought this issue was stemming from my work as a music producer where I need a lot of processing power in order to complete my work, however I noticed these drops occur during other functions. For example when I run Serato, a dj software, these frequency drops occur, and don’t go back up unless I pause music playback for about 5 minutes. I had an instance where I was djing for a packed room, and my computer started producing unbearable cracking noise because of the drop in frequency, causing me to have another dj take over my set, and the rest of the night. I’ve spent close to $4,000 on this machine to ensure that it would be able to handle these functions, however the frequency drops make it close to impossible for me to complete the work I bought it for. I have taken this to the ‘genius bar’ and their only suggestion was to wipe my entire drive to see if this will boost performance. This is unacceptable, and I have about 400gb in space left. I am wondering if there is any other way I can get the frequency of the computer to perform at the advertised rate of 2.4 ghz. Please any advice will help (my friends have started to make fun me for my continuous computer issues).
