Cannot factory reset old macbook because asking for Apple ID that no longer exists

Hello, I want to factory reset my old Macbook but I am having problems. I changed my Apple ID email address to a new one. On my old laptop it is asking for me to sign in to my old Apple ID email address in order to factory reset it. The problem is that Apple ID email address does not exist and I cannot even change it back to that because you aren't allowed to do this. Does anyone know how I can fix this in order to reset this mac? Thanks

Hello ridmar,

In order to resolve that you will need to partner with Apple Support. You will likely need to provide proof of purchase and go through the process of removing an "Activation Lock".

If a message says your Apple ID is locked or disabled "for security reasons"", the document If your Apple ID is locked or disabled - Apple Support directs you to reset your password as outlined in this article --> If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support

If you use two-factor authentication and can’t sign in or reset your password, you can regain access after an account recovery waiting period, as outlined in this document: How to use account recovery when you can’t reset your Apple ID password - Apple Support

If you changed the email address as directed in this article --> Change your Apple ID - Apple Support

it should not be asking for the old email address unless the MacBook has not been able to connect to the Internet since you did that and is unaware of the change. In that case, try using the old email address.

For those numerical error messages, you are best asking Apple about that directly. Refer to this document for ways to contact Apple --> Choose your country or region - Official Apple Support

Select your country (also look for "other" regions), then a product. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.

Okay, I have the proof of purchase of the Mac. I can get into the Mac and even sign in with my Apple ID and use it as usual. I already removed the device from find my iphone and logged out of the apple ID. The only problem is factory resetting the device it asks me for the password for the old Apple ID that no longer exists. I even try to type it but it doesn't work. I tried a few times and I got this. I got this error message to: The operation couldn't be completed. (AKAuthenticationError error -7003.)
