Continuity Camera without Bluetooth and WiFi for Camera but Ethernet for video/audio meeting

Hi,

So I want to increase and squeeze the last bit of quality during my video meetings.

That's why I use Continuity Camera on my Mac, and a very good microphone.

Now, I wonder what happens in this setup:

  1. I use an ethernet connection for the best speed and small latency, so that my video meetings are of best quality.
  2. For Continuity Camera to work, WiFi is turned on.
  3. Since my Bluetooth headphones (used for the meeting on Mac) sometimes want to connect also to the iPhone, I have during the meetings Bluetooth completely turned off on my iPhone (because even when just disconnected from the headphones, they try to remind you with annoying sounds to reconnect to iPhone, so to avoid this Bluetooth is turned off on the iPhone completely).

I have 2 questions regarding this setup:

  1. Will the meeting be transmitted to the other participant using ethernet or WiFi?
  2. What is the disadvantage regarding Continuity Camera if Bluetooth is off on the iPhone with Continuity Camera on?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 13.4

When an iPhone is connected to both Ethernet and Wi-Fi networks simultaneously, the Wi-Fi connection takes precedence over the Ethernet connection. iOS devices are designed to prioritize Wi-Fi connections over other network interfaces when available.

If your iPhone is connected to a Wi-Fi network and later connected to an Ethernet network, the device will continue to use the Wi-Fi connection for internet access unless the Wi-Fi signal becomes weak or the connection drops. In such cases, the iPhone will automatically switch to the Ethernet connection if it is still available.

It's worth noting that iOS devices automatically manage network connections and prioritize them based on factors such as signal strength, stability, and available bandwidth. The device will always choose the most suitable connection for optimal performance and internet access.

The iPhone is on WiFi (and only on WiFi),

but my Mac is on WiFi (for the connection with Continuity Camera) but also on ethernet (for better internet quality during calls).

Since the iPhone sends the data from the camera to the Mac via WiFi, does this force then the Mac to use also WiFi for other tasks (other tasks being general internet usage but more specific - having a video meeting on let's say Google Meet), even though it is also connected to Ethernet (which normally has priority).
