I think I've been hacked, McAfee pop up and Apple website says my Mac is heavily damaged.

I have been hacked. *i think* so I was looking around websites… and I stumbled across something. I clicked on it and almost immediately, Mcafee pops up and says I have viruses *5* and then I exit the tab. I open a different website and again, almost immediately I get opened to the Apple website and it says my Mac heavily damaged. Is this real? Or is it a scam. Please respond!! Pic is below.

Don’t respond to, or engage with, the message. Certainly do not, under any circumstances, attempt to contact anyone using the contact details that may have been provided. Alerts of this nature are designed to scare the unwary into giving away sensitive information - or to fool you into doing something that you shouldn’t - usually to defraud you financially.

If you are unable to close the associated alert/window, perform a forced restart of your computer.

a browser popup saying you been hacked or have 21 viruses are not a source you should place much trust in
