Apple Music subscription

i recently renewed my Apple Music subscription, but it default set it to family subscription, i noticed right away and changed it to individual, but I was wondering if I will be refunded the charge or will i have to pay this month as family, and all charges moving forward as individual? BTW, the payment is done via gift card if that matters.
