Change multiple midiports for Controller assignments in Expert view

Hello.

According to the manual I should be able to change all midi input ports in one go in the Expert view of the Controller Assignments vindow. See image; MIDI Input pop-up menu.

However I can only change one port at a time even if I select all assignments. I also tried modifier keys. Is the manual wrong or is there some additional action I have missed?

I'm still on Logic 10.5.1 but the text is the same for all versions in the online manual.

Also why are some removed devices shown while others are removed from the pop up? In my case both the Panorama and Tranzport are removed both physically and from the Setup Window for Control Surfaces. They are shown, while my ESI Mididevice, which is currently not connected is not shown. Makes no sense.
