Hmmmm,
Use this app password and your email address to sign in to your email app.

Yahoo has gone to this too...

Yahoo App password…
Generate and manage third-party app passwords
Some older, third-party email apps (that do not use our Yahoo branded sign in page) require you to enter a single password for login credentials. To access your Yahoo Mail account on these apps, you'll need to generate and use an app password. An app password is a long, randomly generated code that gives a non-Yahoo app permission to access your Yahoo account. You’ll only need to provide this code once to sign in to your third-party email app.

Apple's Mail App is tied to the OS Version & doesn't get updated, ThunderBird is working for many.
Yeah, I don't care for WebMail... except over no eMail. :(
Only cure for Apple Mail is a far later OS, since the Mail version is tied to the OS version.

Thank you for reaching out, BD Aqua, but when I click that link, it says, "Sign in to your Yahoo Account Security page." There does not appear to be that page on my account. When I go to settings in Yahoo Mail this is what I get under "Security and Privacy"
Yes, but that is a difficult workaround for me. I have been using MacMail for 30 years and keeping track of stuff with WebMail is a horror. I also don't get why there isn't some way to fix this. 😖
I'm not in a MacBook Air --that was an error-- but MacBook Pro, running Sierra (10.12.6) which had --I thought-- the Mail version that came with the OAuth email protocol. I should not be having this problem, it doesn't seem to me.
Also, the description of my hardware is wrong. I am using a MacBook Pro, not MacBook Air.
There is no Account Security Page. Without an Account Security Page, I can't see how to go to "Generate app password."
Maybe try a different browser, that link opens directly to this in Brave browser...
When I click "Generate an app password" I get logged out.
After logging back in I get this. There is nothing about generating an app password.
And Mail still doesn't work?
I use Firefox. My sense is it has something to do with the ATT/Yahoo platform. It's Yahoo, but there are weird wrinkles in it. ATT people have not been helpful at all.
