Apple pencil charging through cover - One pencil can charge through the case, the other cannot
Hi,
I purchased an Apple Pencil from the US last year and charging through the case was never a problem. However, I bought a new apple pencil today since the my old pencil's internal tip snapped off, and when I unboxed the new pencil, I tried to charge it through the same case on my iPad, however, it's not charging through it.
My old apple pencil can still charge although the internal tip snapped off, and it can still charge through the iPad case. However, when I try to charge the new one through the case, it just won't charge.
I also noticed that both of the pencils have a different clicking sound when attaching them to the iPad without a case. The new one sounds more "plastic-y", whereas the old one that I bought from the US sounds more rigid and not as cheap "sounding". The magnets on the old one definitely seem stronger than the new one.
Also, my iPad case has a place for the apple pencil, and when inserting the old one in, it feels harder to insert the old one, as if the old apple pencil is slightly thicker in diameter, however, when inserting the new apple pencil it just quickly sits in its place as it feels its thinner than the old one.
I bought the new apple pencil from an Apple Authorized store and the data of production is January 1st, 2023. However, when I unboxed it and started using it, I checked the serial number on the Apple website, and it said on the website that it couldn't verify the purchase date, so I had to manually set the purchase date and connect it to my account.
