How to get M1 and HP Z43 to work

I have a 16 inch M1 Pro connecting to HP Z43 using an apple thunderbolt 3 cable. If I go to display settings the monitor seems to be recognized and identifies the type of monitor, but the monitor never seems to receive a signal so it stays black. I have tried everything mentioned in the typical forms I believe but would be happy to try anything someone else has to offer. Fun fact I have used this setup for a 2019 Mac book Pro with Intel, HP X360, Dell XPS 15, Razor book without any special configuration and no issues. Please let me know if there is anything I can do.
