My new MacBook air is not printing in color

My new MacBook Air won't print documents in color on my HP Photosmart C8100 even though I installed a brand new color print cartridge, printed a test page and made sure it was aligned properly. The printer will print in color, but the computer is making it print everything in black & white. Why is this and and how can I fix this problem?

iMac sonoma 14 printing issue. I purchased the new HP Smart Tank 7300 series printer. When I select the document to print in colour it shows up as black and white. I change the setting on the print output to colour but the print preview is still in black and white. I updated the software for my iMac and used new printer drives to install HP Smart Tank 7300 but I still cannot print in colour. It only prints in black and white. I cannot find where the this has been set as a default setting

When being on the CMD + P menu, look for the "Print in Colour" switch and turn it on.

Yep, that's a printer control.
