vo2 max

I have read every support letter and article about getting vo2 max to work…update, unpair, repair, reset, airplane mode, have logged numerous 30 minute runs….

nothing ever works to record it, any other ideas short of returning it?

I have the same problem. I can’t tell you how many hours I’ve spent looking for any comprehensive guide to using the Apple Watch for taking VO2 measurements. There are so many different opinions online that don’t match, I’m at a loss as to how to get a good measurement. One Reddit user said you have to be on relatively flat ground and not carrying anything like a backpack. This sounds reasonable to me, but there’s no word on this from Apple. So I don’t know whether that’s just somebody’s kooky opinion or if it’s good information, but for some reason, not provided by Apple. I do periodically get a VO2 max measurement, and they seem reasonable, but at other times when it seems like I’ve just done a work out that would be perfect for VO2 max calculation, no calculation is made. So it appears to provide the calculation completely at random, which makes me doubt its accuracy. I can’t believe Apple doesn’t offer a guide to how to get a VO2 max measurement since its product is specifically meant to provide that.
