IPAD Update to iPad OS 16.5 has frozen my screen

I have just updated my iPad to 16.5 and it has now frozen my iPad. a small window appears in the centre of the screen stating: Software Update Your iPad has been updated to iPadOS 16.5. below that is an OK button. However, when I press the OK button it does nothing and the window stays on the screen. I have tried all the hard boot sequences without success. I tried to connect it to my Mac pro via iTunes and my Mac does not recognise the iPad. Can anyone help or do I have a brick!!!!!

Are you sure that you performed the forced restart correctly? It can be a little tricky to do. See this for instructions on the proper way to force restart.

Thanks for the prompt reply I've tried it several times, eg press release the top volume button then press release the volume down button then press the power button for 30 secs, all without success.I suspect the window stating the update has been installed is preventing any other function on the iPad.

Hi Demo, I've just tried it again went through the sequence and this time the screen went black and the apple logo appeared and it booted up and cleared the frozen screen. Thank you again I must have got there sequence exactly right this time.
