When you first power up the new phone, the setup will ask if you want to transfer data to a new phone from an old phone. Click/tap the link below for all the details.

Transferring data from your old iPhone to a new one can be done using either iCloud, iTunes, or the direct device-to-device transfer method introduced in iOS 12.4.

iCloud Method:

1. On your old iPhone, make sure you’re connected to Wi-Fi.

2. Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud.

3. Tap iCloud Backup.

4. Tap Backup Now and wait for the backup to complete.

5. Turn on your new iPhone and start the setup process.

6. On the Apps & Data screen, tap Restore from iCloud Backup.

7. Sign in to iCloud with your Apple ID and password.

8. Choose the backup of your old device and wait for the content to download to your new iPhone.

MacOS Method:

  1. Connect your old iPhone to your Mac with a USB cable.
  2. Open a Finder window. Your iPhone should appear in the sidebar of Finder under "Locations".
  3. Click on your iPhone's name in the sidebar.
  4. In the General tab, click on the button that says "Back Up Now" under the "Backups" section.
  5. Wait for the backup to finish, then disconnect your old iPhone.
  6. Connect your new iPhone to your Mac with a USB cable.
  7. Open a Finder window. Your new iPhone should appear in the sidebar of Finder under "Locations".
  8. Click on your new iPhone's name in the sidebar.
  9. In the General tab, click on the button that says "Restore Backup" under the "Backups" section.
  10. Choose the backup of your old iPhone and wait for the transfer to complete.

Direct Transfer:

1. Start setting up your new iPhone as a new device until you get to the Apps & Data screen.

2. Choose Transfer Directly from iPhone.

3. Follow the prompts on both phones to use your old iPhone to set up the new one.

Remember to keep your devices near each other and connected to power until the transfer finishes.

Remember, for all these methods, you need to be signed into the same Apple ID on both devices. Also, you should keep your device connected to Wi-Fi and power after setup. This allows photos, music, apps, and other content to finish downloading.

Transfer Data from old iPhone to new-

Do you have a backup created either on iCloud or on your computer?

Method 1 - Backup your old iPhone on your computer like this đꑉ How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support and then Restore your new iPhone from that backup like this đꑉRestore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support

Transferring Data Between iPhones:

Sync Through iCloud:

One method would be to enable items (i.e. Photos) in iCloud on both iPhones. All pertaining items will be accessible between the two devices. As an example, here is how to go about this for photos. You'd just have to download them again.

On Both iPhones...

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: Your Name (Top Item)
  3. Tap: iCloud
  4. Tap: Photos
  5. Enable: iCloud Photos
