After ios 16.5 update . My 13 pro max at 99% health warrenty till Sept 2023 is heating up very quickly in 3-5min of using instagram. The phone only heats up using instagram. What is the issue? What is the solution?
Instagram may be running resource-intensive processes in the background, leading to increased heat generation.
I would also suggest to adjust screen brightness as high screen brightness can contribute to increased heat generation.
FYI this issue is resolved. Instagram updated their app and it no longer heats up.
So this is weird but it seems like it went away. As weird and strange as this might sound, in my case and probably you’re too, it’s your actual Instagram account.
I deleted and logged out completely of my original Instagram account and made a completely new Instagram account. I logged in with the brand new instagram account tested it out and my phone doesn’t heat up while using instagram anymore. The moment I log into the old account my phone starts to heat up again. It worth trying trying it. Let me know please
My experience says this is purely caused by some third-party app that you may have installed.

Then we should wait for next update. Its the optimisation problem . I even tried using instagram in safari.. same thing happened.
It’s July 1 and I have the newest version of instagram on an iPhone 14 with iOS 16.15.1 and it’s still getting so hot!
Your experience is wrong and room temperature has nothing to do with this matter. The iphone is overheating after 3 min of instagram! And this is happening after the last update!
don’t try to blame on other app or room temperature! To easy!
Same here, my iPhone heats up only while using Instagram and as fast as in the first 2-3 minutes of having Instagram open. I got a replacement for my iPhone 14pro on both the latest update IOS and Instagram and still heats up badly while using Instagram.
I am using iPhone 12 Pro Max and gets instantly heated while using Instagram the moment I close the app the phone cools down. I am facing this issue from past 2 days, and have recently updated to ios 17.1.1. I have rebooted the phone but issue doesn’t go away. Is there any other way of getting this resolved?
The ambient temperature here is 25-30C . The problem is only while using instagram

im still having this issue , iOS 16.5.1, latest Instagram. I also use a battery case, which stops working as the phone overheats. I guess this is how Instagram limits screen time.
Mine just started this issue a few days ago and I see there was a new update then as well. It felt like it was only happening when I was on IG and this helps confirm it’s IG.
