Macro Lens for Scanning Doesn’t work

Hallo.

I have this annoying issue when I scan document from another app for example: notes, camscanner, iscanner, etc, the camera won’t use the macro lens. But in Tap Scanner, it automatically use the macro lens.

Why can this be happening? If there is some setting that i can use to enable macro lens for scanning?

thanks for the reply.

Control automatic macro switching

  • Go to Settings > Camera, then turn on Macro Control.
  • Open Camera, then get close to your subject. When you get within macro distance of your subject, appears on the screen.
  • Tap. to turn off automatic macro switching. ...
  • Tap. to turn automatic macro switching back on.

Yes, very annoying, the macro lens is separate and it doesn’t get triggered with any app other than the camera app, so if you are in any app that is requesting you to scan/take a pic of a doc or QR code, if it is small you will never get it, I failed to scan passport/ID in many apps that needs to scan the doc number and other apps that needs QR code from a receipt or invoice as it needs to have the phone close to the code to fill the space and in same time when far doesn’t read. Not sure how apple failed to notice such thing.
