Outgoing Server Issues with Apple Mail

Out of the blue, today, unable to send email on any of my outgoing servers for any of my email accounts (POP) and one being a gmail account. Could this have something to do with my iPhone? I've made no recent changes to any of my accounts. The only new element is actively using my iPhone 4 to check email when on the go.

Suggestions? Help? Thank you for your time in solving this. I've checked for updates, have re-booted and still unable to send, however do receive emails on all accounts.

Gmail: I've followed the link and tried those suggestions and still no luck and now unable to connect to gmail account entirely. I backed up my msgs and deleted the account, proceed to re-activate from scratch with it stopping at the point where the system connects with the smtp server...

I'm testing out my network connections currently. Since for all other accounts I can receive mail, however unable to send anything out.

The other three accounts are pop/110/no SSL checked.

With testing the network, suggestions on what to be looking for?

Thank you!

Re: Connection Doctor: All accounts can connect and login into server. BUT... the smtp.domain.com (s) come up with: Could not connect to this SMTP server. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the Account preferences.

Since all were working fine and this randomly began with no one opening or mingling with the email accounts... not sure what would trigger these issues.

Have since gone in and proceeded with a full battery of test with no success.

For the outgoing server, open Mail Preferences/Accounts/Account Information and click on the arrows beside the name of the SMTP, and choose Edit SMTP Server List. The resulting window will have two tabs -- the first is Account Information and has the name of the server. The second tab is Advanced (this is not the Advanced section of the overall preferences) -- click that, and choose Use Custom Port and directly enter the desired Port # -- what Port does your provider recommend? If using the Default Port list, that can get confused if there was a brief outage at one point.

I have gmail working and my other POP account which is hosted through network solutions. I have a third which is poorly supported and all i've been able to sort is this account is not based on a web-mail service... so not sure what ports to use and no support from the company's current IT support. I've since learned others in the company have been having troubles but just push the outgoing mail through their personal gmail accounts. This defeats the purpose of having a professional presence my business email provides, unless I send it out on my gmail account, which I've been doing to keep contact with or clients...

At a complete loss...I had no problems before upgrading to OS 10.6 and syncing with my new iPhone.

If it worked before, and works now with the iPhone, it should work. I will research a reverse sync option from the iPhone, that might be of assistance, but I cannot promise anything. If you want to share any settings with me privately, I can try to help. If you click on my name to the left, and look in the bio line of the resulting Profile, you can find an email address for me.
