Good afternoon, my MacBook Pro went through an update last night.
I restarted it and it downloaded software. Then went to iCloud screen. It says setting up account
with a spinning wheel. That was 6hrs. Ago. Can’t do anything with the keyboard. Please help Gary

Option + Command + esc will bring up the force quit panel. Force quit the update. If you can to that, press and hold the power button until the screen goes black ... about 10 seconds. You can then restart.
If you're having problems with auto updates, you might consider going to manual for updates.
reports of hanging while trying to update Apple-ID and iClouds status are common. Far too common.
If you can bypass updating Apple-ID and iCloud until later, that would be my advice. Then when your Mac has settled down after the rest of the update, you can manually update Apple-ID and iCloud information.
