Losing cell signal

My iPhone XS does not re-establish a cell connection when I go from a location with no service to one with known 4 bars service. I have to reboot the phone to get the cell service back. This is a new issue happening for the last month or so. I’ve had the phone for 3 years and never had this issue in the past. Updated to iOS 16.5
