Apple Watch battery drain after Update
I noticed my Apple Watch battery draining very quickly after updating it to 9.5.1. Anyone else? My battery usually lasts 2 days.

Settings, battery, battery health then turn off optimized charging.

Apple Watch uses a LOT of battery - Apple Community
After every update the watch battery drains a lot faster. I have the 7 series.
Thanks, I’ll give that a try. It was off on iPhone but not on watch 😊
My ultra usually can last about 18 hours. Now only 8-10 hours and the batery dead. Any idea how to fix it?
I have had the same problem a few months ago (after a watchOS update), and again last week when upgrading to watchOS 10. In both cases, I solved it like this (see also my previous posts much above) :
It works, but it is a hassle : I lost the watch configuration each time and had to do it again by hand.
It is obviously a software problem, it affects many people and has lasted for a few months at least. What is Apple doing ?
My battery on my watch 4 is lasting abut 25% less since updated to new watch software 10.0.1, Does not even last normal day with standard use. This is unacceptable. Apple needs to help.
Mine went crazy too. Down to nothing by mid afternoon.
Unpaired and set up as new watch.
Also erased iphone and restored from backup between unpairing and setting up watch
Now watch only used 40% in 16 hours.
Has anyone else tried this? Did it help? don't want to send time if does not help solve problem
did that work
Is it worth the time
I have an Apple Watch 5 Cellular and ever since Watch OS 10 battery drain is significant. I usually have 20% at the end of most days, and now I'm lucky to have 5%
Thank you pascal_satore ... i did what you tell me .... and now working fine .... the battery also not draining anymore .... I think it even more efficient than before

Unfortunately switching off optimised battery failed.
Will try unpairing devices and see if that works.
Looks like Apple are doing the old known trick of making their devices spill out battery power to force the consumer to upgrade! 🙄
Well what i did with my ultra are:
- unpair with the phone
- reset the watch
- re-pairing the ultra to the phone
- set it as a new watch
But the only hassle was to set it all again from scratch ....
