Apple Watch battery drain after Update

I noticed my Apple Watch battery draining very quickly after updating it to 9.5.1. Anyone else? My battery usually lasts 2 days.

This is from pascal_sartoretti hopefully its help. Coz it works for me

I have had the same problem a few months ago (after a watchOS update), and again last week when upgrading to watchOS 10. In both cases, I solved it like this (see also my previous posts much above) :

  • Un-pair the watch
  • Re-pair the watch
  • Restart the iPhone
  • Restart the watch

It works, but it is a hassle : I lost the watch configuration each time and had to do it again by hand.

It is obviously a software problem, it affects many people and has lasted for a few months at least.

I have found the battery isn’t draining as fast when I turned off the always on feature, which is used if you continuously want the watch to display the time even when your not looking at it.

To turn this feature off which is a default feature go to settings > Display & Brightness then scroll down to Always On and move the slider toggle to off.

i have an older watch (3) and it works just fine but since watch OS 10.0.1, the. Artery drains quickly through the day. I’m not doing anything different but what used to be 50-60% battery left in the evening, now it 20% by dinner. Any ideas on what I can do. Or is it time to upgrade to the 9 (I really can’t afford to do that just now).

Not entirely sure if my problem is related. I suddenly had a massive drain issue. I have a Series 4 and it's almost 5 years old. I noticed the usual drop in battery life but now it's dropping about 20% per hour. I go to the gym for 1.5 hours and it used 40%+. I tried setting it to low power mode today and it still only lasted 10 hours.

The thing is, I didn't update the phone to the new update, iOS 10, until I was having this problem a couple of days ago. I've tried the unpair and re-pair and restarting the watch and phone with no success. Battery health is 74% which I understand is bad, but as I said I struggled to finish a day but suddenly as of a few days ago it won't even last half a day.
