i have a question about this picture app

i remember when i was using windows, i was able to merge one picture with another. i cant seem to do that with this app. i can still edit but there are limitations compared to what i was able to do on my HP years ago. Is there a way to merge 2 photos in one on any Apple device?

Depends on what you want to do.

If you want to paste an image on top of another image, you could you Applications -> Preview.

If you want to create a collage images, I would take a screen shot of anything. Use Preview to resize the screenshot to the dimensions you want. Select All, and delete the screenshot contents. You now have a blank canvas. Copy and Paste the other images you want to use in creating your collage.

If you want something that provides layers that you can individually manipulate, then get GIMP https://www.gimp.org/downloads/ which is a free download.

There are other paid 3rd party image editors available. Just Google "macOS images editing"

It is the "Hammer" syndrome, and everything looks like a Preview "Nail" 🔨. I spend more time using Preview to annotate screenshots that I then post in Slack at work, or in these forums, or an occasional email for friends and family, that my brain just thinks Preview. I rarely write documents, so my Pages, Numbers, Keynote use is very rare.
