Hello janel220!

Fortunately, there’s still a chance you may find your iPhone, even if it is off!

So please view this Support Article: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is lost or stolen - Apple Support.

I hope this is helpful. Good Luck!

If Find My was enabled on the phone.....before.....it was lost, the phone might still appear on the Find My map even though it has been turned off.......IF......there are other iPhones connected to the Internet near the lost phone to pick up the intermittent Bluetooth signal that the lost phone sends out.....even when it has been powered off.

Now.....if the battery has run down on the lost phone, there is no way for the phone to send out a signal at all, so the phone will not show up on the Find My map.

Finally, be realistic about the lost phone. Only a tiny fraction of lost phones ever make it back to their owners, so you need to protect yourself as much as possible by following the instructions in the Apple Support document linked above.

For reference...

Locating a Lost iPhone:

I. Use Find My: Use the Find My App to Locate a Missing Device or Item - Apple Support

If Find My was enabled with this, then you may be able to find it. Only the last location your iPhone was seen at would show up.

II. If Find My is Not an Option...

A. Backtrack your Locations:

Do it the olde fashioned way and backtrack your locations. For instance, if you were at a retail store, then stop in, asking the store manger if it was placed aside.

B. Lost-&-Found:

Chick with the Lost & Found department of the facility you were in, seeing if it has been handed over.

C. Contact Local Authorities:

See if the community police, or local security guards at the front door, can across it.

D. Use Craigslist:

Put a post on Craigslist, seeing if they have been found.
