I’m sorry to hear about your situation. Here’s what you can do:

1. Contact Your Service Provider: The first thing you should do is contact your wireless carrier. They can disable the account, preventing calls, texts, and data use. They may also be able to block your device’s IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number to prevent it from being used on their network or other networks. Each carrier has a different policy, so it’s important to contact them directly.

2. Use Find My iPhone: If you had set up Find My iPhone on your device, you can use it to lock your device and display a custom message with your phone number on your missing device’s Lock screen.

To do this:

• From another Apple device, you can use the Find My app.

• If you don’t have another Apple device or you’re currently using your only Apple device, you can use Find My iPhone on iCloud.com.

Once in Find My iPhone, select your lost device, and then select “Activate Under Mark As Lost”.

Remember, while this can discourage people from using your device, it does not inherently block your IMEI.

3. Report to Local Law Enforcement: You’ve done this already, which is good. Law enforcement might request the serial number of your device. You can find this information on the original box or receipt you received when you purchased your device.

Unfortunately, Apple cannot block an IMEI. Only carriers can do this. Reach out to your local law enforcement and carrier, provide them with all the necessary information and they may be able to help further.
