monterey version 12.6.6 problem accessing microsoft email

I updated to OS Monterey 12.6.6 on my laptop yesterday. Yesterday I couldn’t use my Microsoft emails. I closed the Microsoft program and then opened it again. I turned off the computer and restarted it and the email program worked fine. Today I opened up the program and it didn’t work again. I am asked to input my password or enter a new password. When I do either either the screen doesn’t accept the password or if it does there is no change, still doesn’t work. Ideas?
