The A2436 is an iPad Pro 6th generation. The 2nd generation Pencil is compatible with it. See: Apple Pencil compatibility - Apple Support

With the sole exception of the iPad10, all models of iPad and iPad Pro that feature a USB-C port support the second generation Apple Pencil.
