on my Mac, drag and drop is no longer working after the latest Ventura update.

On my Mac, drag and drop is no longer working after the latest Ventura update. I am able to copy and paste, but can't just grab a picture or document and move it. This seems to be the case for all the applications I use.

Have you shut down and restarted more than once since "update"...?

no insight— try A SafeBoot How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

all known to cause issues on the macOS

Fix 1: Disable Force Click

In macOS Monterey/ macOS Ventura, this solution can help restore drag and drop feature. Follow the below steps to disable the force click.

1→ Go to the Apple Logo from the top menu and Open System Preferences Or (System Settings on MacOS Ventura).

2→ Next, Find and Open Trackpad Option.

3→ Uncheck the Option “Force Click and haptic feedback“.

On my MacBook Pro, this solved the problem. I can drag and drop again.
