Scanning a QR Code on an older Macbook Pro

I have a mid-2014 Macbook Pro running Big Sur 11.7.6. The built-in camera works fine for applications such as Zoom or Google Meet. However, I needed to scan a QR Code to gain entry to a network at a client's workplace. None of the client's employees who were around knew how to type it in directly. So is there a way I could hold up the screen and angle it right and get the camera to "read" the QR Code for that purpose? (Note: It worked fine on my 2020 iPad, but, of course, that has a built in camera app to access the camera directly.)
