Thank you for your concern, and guidance, Sheree. Much appreciated. As I was reading through some comments yesterday, I came across the notion of going through the Apple Menu icon, and check sound under system settings. Ten, choose the OUTPUT, which I changed from the built-in speakers to the JBL Extreme. Actually, I don't even have any idea how it just moved to the built-in speakers all on its own. When I clicked on JBL Extreme, then the sound just transferred to the external speakers. So glad that worked out. It's all good now. Thanks, again.

Hey rtql8rtvist,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. The steps below may help.

If you haven't already, restart the MacBook Pro. Restarting has been known to resolve some software related issues. To restart, follow the step below or in this article: Shut down or restart your Mac.

On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > Restart.

Also, make sure the JBL Bluetooth speaker firmware is up-to-date. If you're not sure how to confirm it is up-to-date, contact JBL support here: Support | JBL Professional Loudspeakers.

Here's a link that shows the latest version for JBL products: JBL Professional Loudspeakers.

Take care.
