Iphone 11 side button going crazy

My side button seems to have a mind of its own is acting like it's being pressed all the time: turning of the screen, going into guided access, going to the power off screen.... Like every couple of seconds. It's getting quite annoying. Also, my volume buttons are only occasionally working. Sometimes when pressed they just don't respond. That's less of a problem though. Any ideas on how to fix it?

micaiah144,

Did you get a chance to look at the article? There are a few suggestions that will help you isolate possible causes. For example, if you have a case and it occurs with both your volume buttons and the side button, it's possible the case is the culprit.

  • Try to remove your case and clean the iPhone to see if it helps.

If all else fails, try to lock your volume buttons in Settings and see if it continues. If it does, because you disabled the physical button, it's likely a software issue.

Lock the ringer and alert volumes in Settings
1. Go to Settings .
2. Tap Sounds & Haptics (on supported models) or Sounds (on other iPhone models).
3. Turn off Change with Buttons.

Let us know how it goes. Our fellow Apple Support Communities users may have a few more suggestions before you take it in for service.

Cheers.
