ios asked for my password twice this morning….

And both times it said I had given the wrong one, NO WAY that is right, so I got stressed, and when I got home I was ready with everything, I had my “recovery phrase” ready at hand

goes in to apple:Id and change, and I get asked for MY PASSCODE ?!?!!??

didn’t need the PASSWORD to change the PASSWORD

and then apple support does the same ol’ , same ol

first they misunderstand like they do, and next comes the “hidden nastiness” dressed in politeness but confronting, things that WILL get you popped in the eye out in public, this is to get you mad so they can get rid of you!!!

Hey there KnightBuzzo,

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities about your password and passcode.

On a trusted device, the system may ask for different things, but this is okay because it's on you trusted devices, that only you have access too. This is explained here: Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support

Your Apple ID might also get locked for security reasons, which would require you to reset the password. This happens for many different reasons, but rest assured, it's to protect your personal info.

Being asked your passcode is also a feature with trusted devices, or it can be related to your iCloud security: iCloud data security overview - Apple Support

If you have more questions, since this is related to your Apple ID account, please contact Apple Support using a different support channel than Twitter. You can use this link to reach them: Get Support

Cheers!
