1 social Security numbers, 2 Apple Cash accounts 2 completely different names

I got it!! And they had it fixed within the hour. You cannot call regular Apple support. You have to call Apple wallet support at 1-877-233-8552!

Someone likely entered your SSN, perhaps by changing a digit on their own. Or, they have access to your credentials. You can only work with GreenDot bank support for Apple Cash. But, you may not get the resolution that you wish.

Literally have been going through the same thing for years. Apple support makes you try to guess the other Apple ID linked to my social, in the event I could access it and remove it. I obviously haven’t got it right because it’s not mine. But they will not remove it themselves.

And that’s not going to happen for exactly the reasons I stated. How does Apple know you’re who you say you are? You could be a fraudulent actor trying to gain access to accounts and use their credit cards, account’s etc.

Just went thru the same thing. They said my social was linked to 2 accounts and legally they can’t tell me anything. My account got the restrictions lifted but they were no help on telling my why the other one got closed.

At some point Green Dot Bank was able to connect you to the SSN. If fraud was involved, federal regulations prohibit them from telling you.

Obviously. You should work for Apple with that useless info. But if someone linked their Apple ID to my government issued social security number I feel like I should be able to know the ID name, to verify if I made it with a previous email or if it is a complete strangers. It’s not like I’m asking for the email address or other information linked to it.

Apple cannot disclose someone else’s Apple ID for safety and security reasons. This is just common sense.
