You can change the option on the iPhone by going to Settings > [your name on top] > Media & Purchases > Password Settings. Here you can set it to "Always Require Password" or "Require after 15 Minutes" when purchasing apps. Those are the only options for purchasing. For Free Downloads, you can choose to require a password or not.
