How to draw on iPad with mirrored onto Mac Book

Hi all, I've recently got a Macbook Pro from my work :). I have a youtube channel where I post content about networking protocols. On this content, on my previous windows laptop, I made drawings via some kind of sketch pad which was connected to the windows laptop.

I know there is an Apple Pencil. However I don't know if it is possible to connect an iPad to my Macbook and for the screen on my macbook pro to be mirrored onto the iPad for me to draw on? If so is there an app I need to use?

Thanks in advance.

Assuming that you have a recent Mac, consider using the Sidecar feature.

Use an iPad as a second display for a Mac - Apple Support

Here is excerpt from the Sidecar support page...

Use Apple Pencil

To point, click, select and perform tasks such as drawing, editing photos and manipulating objects on your iPad while it's extending or mirroring your Mac display, you can use your Apple Pencil instead of the mouse or trackpad connected to your Mac. You can also use it to write, sketch, and mark up documents while seeing the updates live on your Mac.

Sidecar also supports double-tap, which you can turn on in Sidecar preferences. Double-tap enables apps that support this feature to perform custom actions when you double-tap on the side of your Apple Pencil (2nd generation).
