I have recently bought a new sd card and used it for my dashcam. Now when I am trying to connect it to my m1 macbook air i get the error "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer". What should I do?
Card is sandisk ultra 256GB a1.

Except that some devices may format an exFAT file system using a File Allocation Size which is incompatible with macOS. Windows is able to read a lot of exFAT variations, but macOS is much more limited here. Whenever someone wants to share an exFAT drive with Windows I always recommend using Disk Utility on the Mac to erase the drive so the exFAT drive can be used with both macOS & Windows.
I wonder if your DashCam is able to work with other variations of the exFAT file system? Only way to know is to use macOS Disk Utility to erase the SD card and see if the DashCam is Ok with it. Some devices may erase an SD card if it is not in the proper format so keep this in mind if you use Disk Utility to erase the SD card, but the card is not readable after using the SD in the DashCam.

Android is not Apple. I can tell you with Garmin devices, and others we have/had, you must have a device app to use the device on a Mac. That type of arrangement is a common one. Dashcam may not have it, but it's wish to at least ask. And at the same time ask about your problem.
To be read, it has to be in a format Apple recognizes. Have you confirm that?
Too, you may need a Dashcam app to read it. Have you searched the Dashcam site for that?

I am not sure about the app part but when I tried using it on my Android phone it worked fine(without any app).
