Mail notifications when the window is closed
Can i still receive mail notification when the apple mail is closed?(not quit like Cmd+Q but just closing the window with the x button)

Yes. The unread mail status will still show in the mail icon on the Dock. As long as you enable Notifications.
System Settings | Notifications | Mail | Allow Notifications
