Missing holidays calendar and calendar says no internet connection

I used to have the holidays calendar on my iPhone, however sometime after new year, all holidays disappeared from my calendar. The holidays calendar is no longer shown in the calendars overview. It's not possible for me to add it again through "add calendar". When I try to refresh my calendars on the page where you can also add new calendars, I get the error "no internet connection" even though the internet is working fine with all other apps. Does someone have an idea how I could solve this problem?

G'day fabienne177,

Thanks for following up. To double-check and further narrow this down, is the Calendars app working for you other than the Holidays calendar issue? It would depend on whether other Calendar functions work and whether you're testing this on Wi-Fi or cellular data, but it might be good to check Settings > Cellular to ensure that cellular data is switched on for Calendar.

Also, are you running iOS 16.5? If not, we recommend making a backup and updating, as software updates could clear up this type of behavior: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Kind regards.

Hi fabienne177,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. We understand you are running into an issue with the Holidays calendar, and we're happy to help. Make sure that isn't hidden with the steps here:

1. Tap Calendars at the bottom of the screen.
2. Select or deselect US Holidays (or the holiday calendar for your country or region).

See more about those steps here: Use the Holidays calendar on iPhone - Apple Support

Thanks.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately this doesn't help. When I go to calendars, I no longer have the option to select/deselect the holidays calendar, it disappeared from there. When I pull down to refresh the calendars there, I get the error message "no internet connection", so the page calendars won't refresh. But the device has a working internet connection, because there are no issues to load websites or using other apps that require internet connection

Dear Ryane, I didn't notice other issues than that in my calendar app. I don't exactly know when the issue first occured. I know for sure that it worked until New Year. In the week before Ascension Day, I first noticed that this holiday didn't show up.

I tried the refreshing on wifi and on cellular (wifi turned off and cellular data is enabled for calendar in settings), both result with the same "no internet connection" message. My iPhone is on iOS 16.5.

Kind regards
