How to remove password from external drive

Hi there,

I had a macbook pro, wich stop working 2 years ago. Now I just bought a new Macbook and I'm trying to use my old Hdd as a external drive. But unfortunately I don't remember my old password to unlock it. It's any way how to remove my old password and use my hdd. ( I have some data there, and I'm trying to save and not wipe the hdd).

If you have your Filevault Recovery Key, then you can use that key to unlock the drive. Otherwise you would need to boot that drive on an older Mac compatible with the OS installation on that drive so you could attempt to reset the macOS user account password through traditional means.

Sadly no, the whole reason for FileVault is to make is impossible to get your data without a password... the password!
